🚨 STATEMENT ON GOVERNMENT MASS SURVEILLANCE

Last year I drafted best-in-nation legislation and led a bipartisan coalition to rein in the privacy abuses and address the very real Fourth Amendment concerns associated with government mass surveillance technology, including those posed by companies like Flock.

It is a mistake though to frame this severe privacy infringement as only a Flock problem.

Flock is obnoxious and its executives are seemingly drunk on the idea of spying on every law-abiding America; however, they are simply the most controversial of the mass surveillance GovTech vendors.

There are multiple other mass surveillance technologies and companies, all of which engage in essentially the same unconstitutional surveillance activity.

They must all be reined in.

My legislation intends to construct a framework for ensuring Arizonans have the maximum possible Fourth Amendment protections, agnostic to the specific government mass surveillance technology being deployed.

I will continue the fight in the coming legislative session and will be introducing yet another best-in-nation piece of legislation to address this abuse of government power.

Catholic nuns in New York have devoted their lives to caring for poor people dying of cancer, completely FREE of charge.

They don't take government money. They don't take insurance. They simply serve the dying with dignity and love.

And how does New York thank them?

By threatening fines, the loss of their license, and even imprisonment because they refuse to abandon their Catholic faith and pretend that men can become women.

I’m calling BS on anyone claiming rejection of the 2 originally introduced ALPR bills in Arizona were backed by the “anti-police” caucus. SB1111 and SB1138 had ZERO data retention requirements, cut off FOIA access, and included NO WARRANT requirement for searches of the systems. ❌

On the contrary, Sen. Hoffman’s striker HB2917 offered some of the most restrictive polices including a requirement for ALPR use to go to a vote of the people.

Next year, I’m hoping we see a ban on vehicle surveillance. But I will tell you that ALPR policies that lack FOURTH AMENDMENT protections is disingenuous. Period. ❌

It’s not “anti-police” to want to preserve your Constitutional freedoms.

UPDATE ON GERALD AND THE CROW SITUATION:

Things have escalated.

I repeat.

THINGS HAVE FUCKING ESCALATED.

For those of you just joining us, yesterday I accidentally entered into diplomatic relations with a gang of crows after Gerald stole my good spoon.

Well.

This morning I walked outside and Gerald was waiting for me.

Alone.

Standing directly in the middle of my driveway.

No screaming.

No hopping around.

Just staring at me like a tiny feathered loan shark who had come to collect.

I said, “Morning, Gerald.”

He tilted his head.

I gave him a walnut.

He did not eat it.

Instead, this motherfucker picked it up, walked three steps to the left, PUT IT DOWN, and stared at me again.

Message received.

The offering was insufficient.

So I went back inside and got more walnuts.

When I returned…

THERE WERE NINE CROWS.

Nine.

Yesterday there were seven.

Gerald is fucking recruiting.

And they were arranged in a SEMICIRCLE.

This isn’t a bird friendship anymore.

I’m funding organized crime.

I distributed the walnuts because apparently I pay protection money now.

Everything seemed fine until one of the smaller crows tried taking two.

Gerald immediately screamed at him.

The little one dropped the second walnut.

I have accidentally created an economy.

Gerald controls distribution.

There’s a hierarchy.

There are consequences.

I’m pretty sure I witnessed a disciplinary hearing before breakfast.

Then Gerald flew away.

I thought we were done.

WE WERE NOT DONE.

Twenty minutes later I looked outside and there was something sitting where Gerald had been standing.

A bottle cap.

A shiny rock.

And…

MY FUCKING SPOON.

HE RETURNED THE SPOON.

Ladies and gentlemen.

I believe we have successfully negotiated a trade agreement.

Unfortunately, there is now a crow sitting on my mailbox.

So I still cannot get my fucking mail.

I tried approaching.

He puffed up.

I backed away.

That mailbox belongs to the organization now.

At this point I’m just a tenant.

Anyway, Gerald has officially been promoted to General Gerald, Commander of the Driveway, First of His Name, Keeper of the Good Spoon, Lord of the Power Line, Collector of Walnuts, and Regional Manager of Whatever The Fuck Is Happening Here.

I’ll keep everyone updated.

He pays with his credit card. When he checks his receipt, he finds the location added themselves on a tip

It’s a foreigner at the drive thru who speaks broken English, he says the customer can’t film the interaction

At first the employees ignore him, but after he refuses to move from the drive thru the employee is forced to speak with him

He says he will now be always asking for receipts and checking everywhere he goes. He doesn’t mind giving tips, but you can’t just take a tip without asking the customer

This is illegal and is charged as “theft”

In Indiana because it’s under $750, this would be a Class A misdemeanor and the employees who are adding tips without customer authorization can get up to 1 year in jail and a fine up to $5,000

🚨 KATIE HOBBS TAUGHT THE SAME WAY SHE LEADS:

Politics first. People second. And a whole lot of “ums” and “uhs” along the way.

Before Katie Hobbs was Governor, she taught at Paradise Valley Community College.

Her students left receipts.

Perhaps the most revealing criticism had nothing to do with lesson plans.

Students were accusing Katie Hobbs of putting politics ahead of the people sitting in her classroom.

One review complained about partisan material being pushed in class. Seven years later, another student wrote that Hobbs’s “higher priority seemed to be politics” and said her class carried a political agenda rather than simply presenting the material.

And then there was the way she taught.

Across 17 reviews spanning nearly a decade, an almost unbelievable pattern emerges:

10 of the 17 reviews mention Hobbs repeatedly saying “um.”

Not as some passing annoyance. Students said it was so constant that it made her difficult to follow, described her repeatedly losing her train of thought, and complained that her lectures were disorganized, unprepared, and difficult to learn from.

Some called the class a “waste of time.” One said they “learned nothing.” Another flatly wrote:

“She is NOT a teacher.”

For years, Katie Hobbs was the one handing out grades.

This November, Arizona returns the favor.
