Japan strengthens its capabilities to counter serious cyber threats. On Oct. 1, “enhanced public-private collaboration” and “remote access & neutralization measures” under the ACD legislation entered into force, enhancing cybersecurity in the Indo-Pacific & beyond.
On Oct 9 (JST), NCO & NPA have co-sealed the US-led joint cybersecurity advisory "Chinese Government-linked Cyber Threat Actors Combine Automated and Hands-on Hacking Tools to Steal Sensitive Data", alongside relevant agencies of AUS, CA, NZ, Spain and UK.

IT profesionálům i organizacím doporučujeme zvýšenou obezřetnost při komunikaci s potenciálními zaměstnavateli, ověřování pracovních nabídek a náborových procesů.

🛡️🇯🇵 Japan, together with the United States, Australia, and Germany, has published an analysis of the activities of the North Korean cyber actor group WaterPlum (“Contagious Interview”), which targets IT professionals worldwide through fraudulent job offers.
According to the analysis he group impersonates employers and recruiters and uses attractive employment opportunities as a lure to compromise devices and steal sensitive information, credentials, and cryptocurrency assets. According to the published findings, its activities have been observed in Japan, the United States, Europe, and other regions.
This campaign is another example of how recruitment and hiring processes are being abused to conduct cyber operations. IT professionals and organizations are encouraged to exercise increased caution when communicating with prospective employers and to carefully verify job offers and recruitment processes.
NÚKIB has been drawing attention to similar activities for a long time, including in the National Cyber Security Strategy and the recently published Report on the State of Cybersecurity in the Czech Republic for 2025.
