Near #seibuchichibu station is the uniquely shaped Mount Buko. It’s a steady 5 hour hike, but with great views and unique landscapes that make it well worth the challenge. In spring, if you descend towards Hashidate river, you’ll be treated with a field of #cherryblossoms #武甲山

That’s not #tokyotower, but you’d be forgiven if you thought it was. Hidden along #kawagawa’s beautiful #seaside, is #komayama, a small mountain park with great #oceanviews, just a short hike from #oiso station.

Out in #Tochigi prefecture is #oohirayama. After a short walk along the countryside from #Ohirashita station, this simple mountain trail full of shops and #shrines gives similar vibes to Mt.Takao, but with far less crowding.

Out in the west #Tokyo mountain range is Mount Sengen-oné. At 903m, this half day mountain course has a paved road near the top that leads to nowhere. It’s worth checking out in autumn for some beautiful #fallcolors.

Two hours by #jetferry from #hamamatsucho station, is #oshimaisland. In the centre is mount #mihara, a surreal volcanic landscape with some otherworldly views. Inspiration for both #ringu and #godzilla, it’s a place worth #exploring.

Located on the border of #Saitama and #Yamanashi, #kasatoriyama is a true #wilderness hike. In the winter, temperatures can get below -20C. The open air, #fuji view, and beautiful, rugged scenery made this hike a real #outdoor #adventure.

In the far west of #Kanagawa is the lovely Mt.Ōno.
If you start from #Yamakita station, you will pass by rows of #sakura trees on your way to the trailhead. On a clear day, you will have an excellent view of #Fujisan from the top.
