Putting pen to paper: See which local HS athletes celebrated their college commitments during national signing day @tommycassell44 https://t.co/uim1oycsnq via @telegramdotcom
Had a little fun with St. John’s senior Jack Forgues — who I keep hearing on the radio after he and classmate Dom Reidy were chosen to do promos for St. John’s open houses this fall.
So I had the recent UMass-Lowell commit for baseball read off his 98.5 The Sports Hub promo.
Congrats to St. John’s seniors Jack Forgues and Brayden Mercier for signing their National Letters of Intent (NLIs) to play Division I college baseball at UMass-Lowell (Forgues) and UMass-Amherst (Mercier).
Here’s a video of their signing ceremony and some thoughts from the two.
Incredible run with @SJHSBaseball. Privileged to play with teamates and coaches that made it so special.

This is a special group. These guys are 100% ready for college baseball. Selfless, competitive, high IQ, great communicators, never make an excuse, love their teammates, let their play speak not their mouths, loyal, coachable, hard working and most important love the game.
The Groton School has hired Kevin Barnaby as its new head baseball coach.
Barnaby served as Fitchburg State's head coach for 4 seasons and the UMass Lowell Recruiting Coordinator for a year
He has worked the last 7 years as @NoreastersBall director of player development
The Shrewsbury @post397 American Legion baseball team is the final four of the American Legion World Series. They are the first team from Massachusetts since 1978 to make it this far. @3KevinShea https://t.co/5HcKD0LJwl
Congratulations to Nor’Easter’s own Aaron Forgues on helping to lead Post 397 (Shrewsbury) to the American Legion World Series!!
Aaron is set to continue his academic and playing career at Hobart in the fall.
Matt Stuart (‘25, Mass.) ambushes this fastball & drives it over the left-center fence for a 2-run homer. Two-way upside present up to 84 mph on the hill earlier this week. #WWBA
