It is not a question of whether or not a Christian will experience trials, only a matter of when. Many trials of various kinds are a reality throughout the Christian life. Why do we experience such trials?
1) Trials are for the glory of God. No matter the trial, God has purposed it and will use it to bring glory to Himself, and He is worthy of such. (Romans 11:36)
2) Trials grow the Christian in their faith and spiritual maturity. It's the difficult things we experience that mold us into the Christians we ought to be. Trials are times of teaching. (James 1:2-4)
3) Trials are a means of proving or manifesting the faith of a Christian. Our faith is tested in trials, and through that testing, our faith is openly displayed to reveal that Christ alone is our strength. (Psalm 121:1-2)
As Christians, we have to remember that God's providence governs all things, including our trials. Therefore, we must view our trials through the lens of what God says about them, not from our earthly perspective. Trust the Lord in your trials!
“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
~ 1 Peter 1:6–7, LSB

I responded to an article that promotes a push to constitutionally protect abortion in the state of Arkansas. Such a position is unjust and unethical before the sight of God. We must abolish abortion in this state. Such a critical issue, check it out!
