Adding a solid 3&D player to the mix. We already know that the bench may not be as strong, but getting KCP is a good addition. In a perfect world, they get another big with Embiid and Bona. Even then it’s a solid roster. Just manage Embiid’s health throughout the regular season.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Memphis Grizzlies are negotiating a buyout and the veteran 3-&-D specialist intends to team back up with LeBron James and sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, league sources tell me.
It’s a surreal moment. LeBron is a 76er. Maxey-VJ-Brown-Bron-Embiid. If they stay healthy, it’s a championship contender for sure. The Jaylen Brown trade is the main reason why the 76ers were able to convince Bron. It’s going to be one hell of a NBA season.
BREAKING: LeBron James is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option, Klutch Sports Group and Klutch CEO and Game Over show host Rich Paul tells ESPN.
Looking into the sadder part is that Hawks give up on Risacher after 2 years of drafting him 1st overall. Hopefully he can have a career change in Dallas.
A Lu Dort trade felt inevitable. Risacher’s time in Atlanta was ending as well. Thunder save $80m with this trade, Hawks get Dort and Ryan Nembhard, 2 solid role players, and Mavs take a chance on Risacher amidst his early struggles.

BREAKING: The Oklahoma City Thunder trading All-Defensive wing Lu Dort to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team deal that sends three second-round picks to OKC, former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks and Ryan Nembhard to Atlanta, sources tell ESPN.
Didn’t expect Trent to get anywhere near this contract but good for him. I don’t know what made the Bucks give Trent this contract but credit to Rich Paul for getting Trent the bag.
Free agent guard Gary Trent Jr. has agreed to a four-year, $64 million deal to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton tells ESPN.
Just in: The Sacramento Kings are waiving DeMar DeRozan, making the six-time All-Star one of the top free agents, sources tell ESPN. The sides worked collaboratively on this resolution after exploring trade routes.
Kings signed Keegan Murray to a 5yr $140m extension. Rockets got Eason for almost $60m less. That’s $12m AAV difference. No disrespect to Keegan but he’s not $12m/year better than Eason.
Restricted free agent Tari Eason has agreed to a five-year, $81.5 million deal to return to the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN. The deal is fully guaranteed for Eason.
This is a player that I thought the Heat were going to get. Would’ve been a perfect fit for them but instead the 76ers add him to their roster. Mike Gansey has done an incredible job so far as the 76ers President.
Just in: Free agent guard Anfernee Simons has agreed to a two-year, $12.3 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, with a player option in second season, sources tell ESPN. Simons chose the 76ers over other suitors believing his fit is perfect with the revamped 76ers roster.
If that was truly the best offer, I’d rather just keep him. Shams said that Brown didn’t request a trade, so just keep him than trading him for this. Paul George is cool, played great against the Celtics in the playoffs. But he’s 36, 2yr $110m left. This wasn’t the right move,
What? So the 76ers just got a top 15 player in Brown for Paul George and 2 1sts. Amazing A+ for the 76ers. Celtics what the heck?! Brad Stevens, we’ve always talked highly about you as a coach and as an executive. But this is horrible. Couldn’t get 1 offer better than this?
BLOCKBUSTER: The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
Kawhi back in Toronto where he led them to their one championship. Now, he’s back and aiming to lead them to their second one. Raptors are adding a top 10 player, and the greatest Raptor of all time, back to the team. Clippers are going into the rebuild now.
BREAKING: The Los Angeles Clippers are nearing deal sending Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, 2 first-round picks, 1 pick swap and 2 second-rounders, sources tell ESPN. A return to Canada for the Raptors champion and two-time Finals MVP.
Feels unreal. Don’t matter how old he is, or if it’s his last year, this is still one of the best players in the world, the GOAT. It does seem like the Warriors is the likely spot but could it be the Cavs or Heat? We’ll see what happens.
BREAKING: LeBron James will continue his NBA career for the 2026-27 season and has informed the Los Angeles Lakers that the franchise can move on without him because he will play elsewhere, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN.
More intel on Jalen Duren coming in: League sources tell @TheAthletic he now has a call with the Lakers scheduled for tomorrow.
Another sign-and-trade scenario emerges…
@o_a_khan Yeah it’d be a 4yr deal vs 2 year deal. But we suck rn. We can afford to overpay for at least 2 of the years maybe even more. He’s younger and would be a good fit next to Acuff.
@Andrew_Fenichel It’s somewhat similar to Trae Young’s contract with the Wizards. It’s an overpay but the Wizards can afford it to be b/c they have so many young guys. The Kings aren’t making the playoffs any time soon, we can afford it.
@Andrew_Fenichel I mean for the Kings if it’s swapping Sabonis for Duren, I’d do it. Duren fits the timeline and him and Acuff would be a solid guard/big pairing. He shrunk in the playoffs but he was an All Star and All NBA this year. It would be an overpay but Kings suck rn, it won’t be that bad
Could it be considered an overpay given Duren’s poor playoff play? Sure, but a big man that fits the timeline for the Kings current scenario and prolly sends Domas out. I’d be intrigued with it.
The Kings??!!! My Sacramento Kings have an all star player that is under 25 years old interested in potentially joining them?! That’s great!!! For Acuff, the timeline. Even if it’s a leverage tactic, Scott Perry has been putting Kings in good situations. Gotta give him credit.
BREAKING: Due to sizable distance apart in negotiations, Detroit Pistons restricted free agent center Jalen Duren will meet with the Sacramento Kings at the start of free agency with the intentions of structuring a sign-&-trade out of Detroit.
Wouldn’t have expected Portland of all teams to trade for Ja. I’d expect that they’re not done making moves. If it’s true that they’re looking at a Ja-Dame backcourt, then Scoot Henderson and Jrue Holiday are now trade pieces. Seems like it’s for Jaylen Brown.
BREAKING: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading two-time NBA All-Star Ja Morant to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray, sources tell ESPN.
For the Suns, it’s puzzling. They let their 2033 1st go but get a 2029 1st. Unless they make another move that involves their more recent draft picks that they own, the Bridges trade won’t make sense. With their current iteration of a roster, it’s at best another 1st round exit.
Hornets did this move as an effect of the LaMelo trade. They shouldn’t have dealt LaMelo, but they did. So looking at this trade for them, it’s not bad. They get a 2033 1st unprotected by swapping a lesser 2029 1st and also acquired 2 rotational players for Miles Bridges.
BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN.
