Luck of the Irish ☘️
Notre Dame had Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price become the first two RBs taken in Round 1, the first time since the Common Draft Era both came from the same school.
This weekend was David Sollenberger’s favorite time of the sports year.
Some years he’d let me stay home from school and we’d watch college basketball together all weekend. One time he let me skip school both Thursday and Friday to hang out with him and watch the tourney. My mom wasn’t happy.
As I grew up we would still talk almost every day during the tournament. He loved Allen Iverson (although he’d get mad that the refs never called him for carrying), Scottie Reynolds, Nick Caner-Medley, and Grant Hill, but also taught me that Christian Laettner was an asshole.
Thinking about him a lot this time of year especially since it’s his birthday weekend. Have a root beer for him, and if you’re watching with your dad make sure to really enjoy the good times spent together. He’d like that.
A lot of emotion in this. I just want to say THANK YOU Green Bay. Thank you for the last 11 years. It’s been a hell of a run. I always wanted to raise a Lombardi on Lombardi avenue, but I will never complain. I gave it my all. I always gave it my best no matter the circumstance and to me, that truly was enough. My 32 year old self is so damn proud of that 21 year old with no facial hair, bushy tail kid that just wanted to do his best. I’m so proud of you. For whatever happens next, I look forward to it. To the city and fans all across the world, I just want to say thank you. To the entire organization, Thank you. To entire coaching staffs, Thank you. To the entire support staff, Thank you. To my wife and daughter (Frankie and Felix): I hope you are proud. To my family (Debbie, Karl, Eric, Andrew, and Danielle): I hope I represented our name with pride these past 11 years in Green Bay. I cannot thank everyone, so I hope this post will suffice. Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile, because it happened.
Love 69. #Dinnerfor2
A man of great strength and grace. As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class. An sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP
Congratulations to Senior Goalie Zach Yergler on winning the Jack Lafferty Goaltender Award for his great goaltending, hard work, giving back to the sport and to the community, sportsmanship and his positive attitude. Way to go Zach!!!
Inspired and moved tonight to see President Zelensky address Congress to reaffirm the friendship between our countries and remind us that American support is “not charity” but “an investment in global security and democracy.” We will continue to stand with Ukraine.
