Very excited that Primary Technology, a show about how tech affects all of our lives, launched today. I'm especially excited to co-host with @stephenrobles, who is really one of the best there is.

“Everyone as a kid has built something in Lego," @LandoNorris said at the announcement. "It's nice, especially when it's your own project, and you get to know that people are going to be building this at home. That's pretty amazing."
⚡️ New Top Five Tech is out!

The iPhone version of Contextly has been out for 4 days and I've pushed out 3 updates already. The latest adds a ToDo tab to aggregate those in one place, and make it easy to either send them all to your favorite task manager, or send them individually.
On the iPhone, it has to be easy to very quickly capture a note and then review what you need to do.
Each is meant to feel intuitive and useful in its own environment, and I think these updates help accomplish that.
I built Contextly for me because it works the way I do. It turns out, a lot of other people wish they had something that worked this way as well. So yeah — another notes app.
But this time, it's one that works the way you do.

Yes, I made a Notes App. No, the world probably doesn't need another one.
The thing is, every notes app I've ever used is very good at letting you take notes, but they aren't great at all of the context around your notes.
That's why I made Contextly.
It's built natively for Mac--as well as iPhone and iPad-- and includes on-device Apple Intelligence. Nothing leaves your device for a server unless you turn on iCloud sync. There is an optional OpenAI integration if you want to summarize larger notes, but--it's optional.
And, of course, here's a link to the app in the Mac App Store. It's free forever, with a subscription for additional features. There's also an iPhone version coming shortly!

I also wrote about the process of using Claude Code to turn my idea for the perfect notes app into a real thing that anyone can now use. tl:dr, it's really hard, but for different reasons than you think.
