For quite some time I've been filming jazz funerals, working on a film about burial traditions as a lens on the evolution of New Orleans. This project began well before the book I've done of the same title, "City of a Million Dreams," which has a more expansive viewfinder on
the history of the city, forthcoming in November from UNC Press.
