I'm logging off, hopefully for a while. You can find me on other platforms, if you're inclined. I don't want to be here while this AI shit is going down and no one can opt out of it.
As a recruiter, I've seen this happen so many times. Sometimes it's arrogance, sometimes it's convoluted coperate structure (tech start ups did this a lot), but eveverytime ended the same way: with a boss being SHOCKED when the candidate self-selected out.
Recruiter: I am sorry but the candidate accepted another offer.
Boss: But you said we were his first choice?
Recruiter: You WERE..
Boss: Then how did we lose him?
Recruiter: While you put him through a 4-weeks interview process, X company pulled the trigger on him in less than 2 weeks.
Key lesson: To secure top talent, streamline your hiring process. Act with caution but quickly, communicate clearly and keep the candidates engaged, and reduce delays.
A university student wrote a middle school level essay just to bait her trans professor into correctly failing her so she could retaliate and ruin her teaching career… and it worked.
Absolutely shameful.
So, she had months to put a statement like this out, and there were several interviews where she was asked about this topic and played coy with her answer. So forgive me if this doesn't ring 100% sincere.
Sydney Sweeney tells PEOPLE that she “doesn’t support the views” that people connected her American Eagle campaign to:
“I was honestly surprised by the reaction. I did it because I love the jeans and love the brand. I don’t support the views some people chose to connect to the campaign. Many have assigned motives and labels to me that just aren’t true.
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always trying to bring people together. I’m against hate and divisiveness. In the past my stance has been to never respond to negative or positive press but recently I have come to realize that my silence regarding this issue has only widened the divide, not closed it. So I hope this new year brings more focus on what connects us instead of what divides us.”

Netflix is phrasing it like it's a done deal - but confirmation/approval doesn't happen until end of 2026 or early 2027.
This is called "manufacturing consent". They want to avoid giving people a chance to process this, and they're pushing a narrative that everything is fine and it's already done. It is not.
My knee jerk reaction is that this is a "bad thing". My deeper thought is that it's worse than we can imagine.
If you work for a company that generates AI music, you’re not helping other people become musicians. You’re complicit in the tech world’s attempts to kill the creative industries and the human creative drive. You’re participating in the voluntary degradation of the human spirit.
