RECOVER #fingerprint technology marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against gun crime. Unlike other techniques, that are largely ineffective on fired ammunition, RECOVER enables #forensic experts to process large batches of discharged bullets quickly and effectively
Thanks to @the_iai member Jason Cole with @fosterfreeman for discussing #Recover instrument at the @ABAesq Forensic Science meeting in New York. Proud to show how tech should be developed and transferred to the community. Research, developmental validation, lab validation, use.
F+F will be there - but not before we attend this weeks #CSDIAI event in Burlingham CA, where we'll be presenting our latest #fingerprint development techniques including RECOVER and the use of Longwave Reflected UV imaging

Longwave Reflected UV imaging is a superb tool for the visualization of fingermarks
#Forensic evidence treated with cyanoacrylate can be examined using LW R-UV without the need for subsequent dye/stain/treatment
Example: Marks on the sticky side of packing tape VIS vs LW R-UV
Becca, on our stand at #aafs2019 is demonstrating the final stage in a process that had previously seemed impossible - recovering fingerprints from fired ammunition and then capturing a seamless flat image of the print

We've been testing our unique RECOVER: Latent Fingerprint Technology in a wide range of 'difficult' conditions - in this video we RECOVER #fingerprints on a selection of fired bullet casings, developing marks that would be impossible to detect using existing techniques #forensic
