@andrew_leach My bigger concern would be if we have any fires in the next few days while this is going on. Firefighting draws an order of magnitude more than what domestic demand requires, and could suck reservoirs down real quick if it happens.

@andrew_leach But they rely on people and businesses cooperating. I’m certain that dependant on how bad the reservoir situation was getting, they absolutely would shut off large commercial/industrial demands if they weren’t seeing compliance.

@bcshaffer Oh please post about that when it comes out! When I was still working in the utility world in Edmonton a couple years ago, there was a lot of uncertainty on what options there would be/what would actually be implementable for this issue.

@bcshaffer The bigger issue that will have to be figured out is at the granular level, where more than two EV’s charging at once will cause a standard neighbourhood level transformer to blow. Figuring out how to prevent that concurrent charging scenario is the real (but solvable) challenge

@maxfawcett They didn’t remove that right…. They just removed the special clause that allowed Edmonton and Calgary to not follow the rules in the MGA that all other municipalities have to follow in setting those levies.
