My manager once told me in a review that I needed to be more visible to leadership. I asked how. She said attend more meetings. I asked which ones. She said the ones where decisions are made. I asked how to get invited to those. She said by being more visible. I wrote the whole exchange in my notes. Showed it to my next manager at a different company during my first week. He laughed and said that was the most corporate thing he had ever heard.
I can't believe Malawians fought to take this country back from colonisers but we can't take it back from corrupt politicians. When we finally become serious citizens and patriots, even if it's 3am in the morning, please wake me up. Thanks.
“Women deal with periods, pregnancy, and menopause.”
Men deal with shorter life expectancy, the most dangerous jobs, war, higher suicide rates, and the constant expectation to provide and protect. Men don’t complain because they’re built to carry heavier loads.
But go ahead and tell us how hard your period is. The world runs on male sacrifice, not female discomfort.
Men’s struggles don’t get parades; they get expectations.
My boyfriend suddenly became obsessed with going to the gym.
New clothes.
New haircut.
New confidence.
I thought he was preparing to leave me.
One day I asked why he'd changed.
He looked embarrassed.
Then admitted:
"One kid called me 'uncle' last month."
does anyone else feel randomly guilty for their past even though it's been years and years and you changed and nobody even knows what you did back then but you still feel bad about it for some reason like why does my brain even care at this point i'm being ragebaited by myself
