Hope to see you there!
I’d love to see you!
These conversations are one of my favorite parts of representing Northern Utah, and I’m looking forward to a good night together in Richmond.
Twenty five years later, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger. May we continue to honor their courage, sacrifice, and memory. Never forget.
We are so grateful! Yesterday we gathered with families affected by the Logan fire and the first responders who stepped in when our community needed them most. Because of their work, not one home or life was lost. Proud of the way this community showed up.
Yesterday, I joined the signing of BTECH Now, USU Next, a new partnership creating clearer pathways between Bridgerland Technical College & Utah State University.
The goal is simple: meet students where they are & help them keep moving forward.
More training. More high-skill careers. More opportunity in Northern Utah.
This partnership between Brigham City, USU, and Hi-Tech Solutions will help connect students and workers with training, credentials, and careers in nuclear energy and advanced technology.
A great Apple Days weekend in River Heights.
We had a lot of fun being part of the parade and seeing so many families and neighbors out celebrating together.
Thank you to everyone who made Apple Days happen and to everyone who came out to join us.
We love our home!
States should not lose their constitutional role simply because an issue gets repackaged under a federal label.
Utah’s law stands, and the case has been ordered closed.
Utah’s gambling laws were challenged in federal court, and Utah prevailed!
Kalshi argued that because it operates as a federally registered exchange, its sports event contracts should be protected from state gambling laws…
The court rejected that argument and affirmed Utah’s authority to enforce its laws within our own borders.
This is bigger than one company or one case. It’s another example of why the balance between state and federal authority matters!
Not every question needs to be settled 2,000 miles away…. Sometimes holding a country together requires loosening the grip at the top.

Federalism was never designed to eliminate disagreement. It was designed to manage it, give states room to solve problems, and keep decisions closer to the people they affect.
As more authority moves to Washington, local disagreements become national showdowns, accountability gets harder to see, and every election begins to feel existential.
Politics keeps getting louder, but that does not mean government is working better.
Troy Smith and I wrote about the structural problem underneath so many partisan fights.
While we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together, we must continue tackling our toughest challenges… expanding housing affordability, improving air quality, strengthening education, protecting our natural resources, and ensuring every Utahn has the opportunity to succeed.
Why is Utah the “Beehive State?” Just take a look at these bees and you’ll see how the industry and perseverance required for a healthy hive are exactly the values that have contributed to Utah’s success since 1847. Happy Pioneer Day!
