Happy to be @NCVO’s rather swish meeting rooms, talking about Affordable Rural Housing with @ACRE_national colleagues and our very own affordable rural housing team. It feels great to help local people into affordable homes.
Worth checking out Surrey Anti-Slavery Partnership: Modern Slavery – Right Here, Right Now - Diocese of Guildford (https://t.co/YWEJIwVYQT) to whow what to look for and how to respond.
Thank to the Bishop of Guildford for inviting me and others to meet with peers from CoE and the VCSE and hear from DCI Kerry Loveless of @SurreyPolice about modern slavery in Surrey.
Yesterday was a day of contrasts, the Greener Futures Board followed by the East Surrey Poverty Truth Commission. Different meetings with very different audiences, but it's clear how everything is linked and can be addressed with the will and skill that Surrey has in spades.
It's that time of year again when we open ticket sales for our annual conference. This year, we focus on helping charities and community groups navigate the cost of living crisis. Hope to see lots of you in Woking on Thursday 28th September!

Extra funding is crucial in helping us to enable more #AffordableHousing in Tandridge, Waverley, Guildford and Mole Valley, where house prices can be 18x the average wage - pricing out the key workers and young families needed to keep villages thriving.
Join Crystal as she travels through time on an extraordinary journey through Romani history with colourful characters, humour, music and storytelling. A FREE event on 24 June as part of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History month by @RBKingston & @surreyca.

The devil will be in the detail, of course, but this is a step in the right direction, especially considering that the wage to house price multiplier in rural Surrey can be 18:1, way more than the 8.8 national average. @ACRE_national https://t.co/X3QgxiGPOc
Very proud to have been invited by @HelynClack to join some amazing Surrey charities "in recognition of your outstanding contribution to Surrey and its residents". Some fab people there, including more than a few who I haven't seen in 3D since Covid!
@TheGrangeCentre Best not to move frogspawn in to be honest - too much risk of transferring disease or invasive species. It'll populate itself faster than you might think :)
We're undertaking a "Snapshot of Rural Surrey" to find out about the experiences of people living, working or taking leisure in rural Surrey, so we can make some recommendations for improvements.
Complete the survey for a chance to win a £50 voucher!

Happy to be with @SLieutenancy and @CFSurrey and others looking at how we can connect to meet community need in a cost-of-living crisis. Really glad we are talking about doing WITH not TO and that those in need know what they need best.
