This morning, City of London Police were at Bank Junction, introducing a new approach to tackling cyclists who ignore red lights, giving offending riders the opportunity to watch a short hard-hitting road safety film instead of receiving an immediate fixed penalty notice.
The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty
After the Green Party's "Zionism is Racism" vote, the Leader of Haringey Council, which is controlled by the Greens, wrote to various Synagogues in the borough to "reassure" them.
I want to show you Highgate Synagogue's reply. I believe it is worth reading in its entirety.

This is hugely positive for London. Despite predictions of the death of the office, demand for top tier office space remains strong with vacancy rates at very low levels. The City Plan will help ensure we continue to build the buildings we need to attract future investment.
Independent inspectors have backed the Cityโs approach to balancing growth and heritage around the Tower of London World Heritage Site, while Government has withdrawn its direction and cleared the way for City Plan 2040 to be formally adopted.
Thanks to @mhclg for their swift and decisive consideration of this matter.
City Plan 2040 will provide the certainty needed to support jobs, investment and sustainable growth in the Square Mile.

Today at 1pm a 62-round gun salute was fired from the Tower of London to mark the anniversary of His Majesty The King's accession to the throne ๐
The salute was fired by the @HACRegiment ๐ฅ
My thoughts today are with His Majesty King Charles III and the whole Royal Family, 4 years on from the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
I still treasure my memories of the occasions I was fortunate enough to meet Her Late Majesty, and I know so many people across the country will be thinking of her today, of what she meant to them, and of the example she set.
Those 70 years of service to this country will never be forgotten.
Fraud and cybercrime now account for around half of all reported crime. This week, @CityPolice published its first Report Fraud Annual Assessment & brought together law enforcement, government, industry & civil society to discuss the growing threat from fraud & cybercrime ๐งต1/3.
