STA Patrol soldiers from 1 (Special Op) Squadron hone their skills on the General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), in preparation for firing the weapon on exercise next month, along with our other weapons: the Glock pistol, L129 Sharpshooter rifle and SA80 assault rifle.
Students hoping to start the next Surveillance & Reconnaissance Patrols Course (SRPC) in January conducted preparatory training at the weekend, including a 20km navigation exercise (carrying 20kg of kit) & fitness test. These events ensure candidates meet SRPC entry standards.
We recently bade a fond farewell to our esteemed Regimental Sergeant Major, WO1 Rob Heath. He leaves not only the HAC, but also the Army after 23 years of service. He has had a considerable and positive impact on Regimental life and capability!
Today at 13:00 hours, we celebrated the 75th birthday of The King, our Captain General, with a 62-round Royal gun salute at the Tower of London.
75 years ago on the 15th November, 1948, we also fired a Royal gun salute in honour of his birth. God Save The King!

Our new Commanding Officer lead the regiment from Armoury House to join the Lord Mayor's parade to welcome London's 695th Lord Mayor, Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli.

Every year the HAC takes part in the Lord Mayor's Show and Remembrance Sunday, parading at St. Paul's cathedral and in Islington.
Soldiers across the HAC participate, including STA Patrol Soldiers, the Band, A Battery and their Light Guns, Signallers, and the Corps of Drums.

Reserve Soldiers on the Surveillance & Target Acquisition Patrols Course (SRPC) continued their training on Salisbury Plain this weekend, focusing on observation posts, patrolling, communications and close target reconnaissance.
