I am submitting this open letter via https://t.co/Zfkgj35qPH to address concerns about the limited transfer windows for Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised and the lack of a clear timeline for its deployment on Hardware 3 (HW3) vehicles in Australia.
The limited FSD Supervised transfer windows unfairly restrict owners who paid a premium for this feature, diminishing its value and flexibility. Additionally, the absence of a published timeline for FSD Supervised activation on HW3 vehicles is causing frustration among Australian customers, especially since HW4 vehicles in Australia already have access to this feature. This delay feels particularly unfair to HW3 owners who purchased FSD expecting timely access.
I respectfully urge Tesla to:
Publish a clear and detailed timeline for FSD Supervised deployment on HW3 vehicles in Australia.
Offer a permanent, open transfer option for all HW3 owners who have purchased FSD Supervised, ensuring fairness and flexibility.
These actions would demonstrate Tesla’s commitment to transparency and customer satisfaction. I hope Tesla’s leadership will address these concerns promptly and invite the community to support this call for clarity and fairness.

Honestly ….
I’m no longer upset.
I loved the FSD Supervised I tried and have made 20 videos on the lovely tech, how far @Tesla had come and how the .999 is gonna be an amazing ride.
I will continue to edit and post FSD supervised videos that I recorded from the loaner car Tesla gave me. As much as I wanted to hate FSD after years of waiting - I must say Tesla made me a Tesla Fan again. Thanks to the amazing FSD team helmed by @aelluswamy
Tesla AUNZ - A kind Timeline projection would make this a great experience for all us customers who have been waiting since 2018 and earlier. Just a timeline. Even if that timeline says 2027 that is fine.
But radio silence is just ….. hmmmm
Kind request @elonmusk
Just a timeline please. Long ago you replied to my enquiry for Australian Model 3. Will it happen again ?
- Sincere Tesla Fan since 2018.
To whom it may concern at @TeslaAUNZ
As a Tesla customer since 2019, I purchased FSD for my 2019 Performance Model 3 ($8,000) and 2023 Performance Model Y ($10,100). To this day, No FSD functionality has been delivered. I’ve ordered a 2026 Model Y Performance and request my FSD license be transferred to it, regardless of transfer options at delivery. I will not pay a 3rd time.
After six years, the lack of a clear timeline for FSD in Australia is frustrating. I urge Tesla to provide regular updates and a roadmap for FSD deployment on HW3 and HW4 vehicles. Transparency is crucial to maintaining my trust in Tesla’s vision. Just get it done!
@Kirk_Tesla@13arm13arm@Tesla@TeslaAUNZ@elonmusk It's about the extra data that will be going over the 4g connection. Eg. Live stream ASS and viewing and downloading sentry footage. All features of the latest version. It's just a hunch
