The Kansas City Hustlers played in the Men’s Senior Baseball World Series last week. 7 games in 5 days. I had a great tournament (1.094 OPS). I also stole 5 bases.

I played nearly every inning in centerfield and took away a few hits. I still play like I did when I was 17 - relying on speed and hustle to make up for what I lack in size and skill.

I can’t believe I still get to do this and with guys who have become some of my closest friends. It’s the best.

Each year, we play a 40 or so game regular season in KC and then finish the season with this tournament in Arizona.

We all stay in a house together all week, icing and hydrating and eating incredible meals cooked by our left fielder.

Today I head home bruised, bloodied, blistered, sunburned, sore all over and filled with gratitude.
