$AAPL - APPLE TURNS TO CHINA AS CHIP SHORTAGE BITES

Apple is testing memory chips from China’s CXMT for iPhones, MacBooks and other devices as the AI boom squeezes global supplies.

The company is considering CXMT chips for products sold in China and hopes to secure White House approval.

U.S. restrictions prevent Apple from ordering customized CXMT chips, but standard components remain permitted.

With memory costs rising and pushing up device prices, Chinese supplies could offer Apple some relief.
