Sorry, not sorry, but this just isn't true, if by "bless" he means "approves of".

There are so many examples of the true version of "Holy War". In Hebrew this was called the Law of the Ban (Hebrew: charam). This means to devote to the complete and utter destruction--AT GOD'S COMMAND. Below, I have cited just a few examples.

Best cases: Pope is ignorant of the Holy Scriptures, or has simply forgotten and needs to re-dedicate himself to its study.

Worst case: He is relying on the devotion of Catholics to simply trust what he says/decrees. In this way he can manipulate them for whatever purposes he desires.

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
