The scattered sound of running feet made him turn, but all Pelham saw was the tail edge of a jacket as the wearer disappeared from view. He took a step forward, his brow furrowed and curious... but the footsteps receded too fast for him to do more than stare at the empty space.
Her heart thumped so hard against her chest it hurt. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying not to succumb to the burning sensation of tears when she heard a rustle beside her, followed by an unfamiliar male voice.
๐ธ๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐, ๐๐'๐๐ . . .
Syrena spun -
Oh, if only she knew how thoughts of her haunted him, day and night. If only he saw her. But if he did...

It was... what it was.
The anger, the pain. The hurt echoing in his tone from a constant barrage of disrespect and insubordination from colleagues who should know better.
He didn't see her. She stood outside of his line of sight. All he could see was....red.
She almost couldn't believe it.
There was anger in his voice, and some โ๐ข๐๐ก as well. But she hadn't expected this side of him . . she couldn't imagine it when he'd only ever spoken to her in the softest tones.
Yet, she couldn't stop staring from the side of the building ..
// hey, @RescueReviver I would very much appreciate it if you sourced your own profile picture and didn't steal the one created especially for my account and my muse.
Yeah, you know. This...
( The Lieutenant leaned back, though his feet didn't move. He shrugged helplessly and shook his head.
How many more times was the world going to punish him? )
...The disappearing act.
