I wish I could articulate how it feels to be me in Saskatchewan today.

I am one of the few people who, when she was in grade school, would have benefited so greatly by having an opportunity to learn of the existence of trans and gender diverse people, by having someone to talk to who I knew to be accepting, and by having a safe, inclusive space to, maybe, be myself.

Instead, I experienced...
• Deep closeting
• Deeply repressed memories
• Internalized trans/homophobia
• Masculine overcompensation
• Shame, guilt, and fear
• Irreparable harm

We can come together to do right by all the youth in our province and this can be done without blanket policies/laws which further marginalize already marginalized youth.
