Congratulations to Dr. Melodee Seifi! She untangled XPB helicase DNA unwinding, bridged chemistry and physics with a validated circuit model, and earned #APS poster & oral awards along the way. Proud to celebrate my 12th #PhD recipient, Dr. Seifi!
@krakenfx I was given Ziploc bags for Christmas.
Not the slide‑lock kind.
Like a peasant.
They were presented in a stocking, which was then taken back,
because apparently I hadn’t “earned” the sock.
The bags remain.
The humiliation remains longer.

Well, this is quite the Christmas present! Our patent for #perovskite “3D-0D” light-emitting electrochemical cells was awarded! Nice work, Aditya, Riya, and Anton!
In Muhammad Khalid's first paper with my group, we revealed perovskite frontier energy levels across the visible spectrum using low-power tabletop electrochemistry, utilizing an electrolyte toolkit that preserves the perovskite thin film. Enjoy!

Austen leveraged machine learning to rapidly extract electron transfer rates from electrochemistry. Then, when challenged by a naysayer, he utilized AI to extract the full suite of electron transfer kinetics. Please join me in congratulating Austen Adams, my 11th #PhD graduate!
#ChemPlusChem Applying Machine Learning to Predict Electron Transfer Kinetics from Voltammetry Experiments (Jason D. Slinker and co-workers) @JasonSlinker • https://t.co/bUpDeNfXO5
Today, five outstanding graduate students were recognized with #UTD#Physics Department Teaching Awards! Congrats to Austen Adams and Isha Kapte of the Slinker group, as well as Emmanuel Ameh, Rohit Kajla, and Amogh Desai from UTD Physics! Whoosh!
We are #hiring TWO open rank faculty in condensed matter #physics at #UTDallas!

We demonstrated that alloxazine is a reversible switch of DNA hydrogen bonding and structure with the Kuchta group of Colorado. We flipped the switch electrochemically, observing correlated modulation of structure and pH. https://t.co/VyDaTE6vcq
The current issue of MRS Communications features articles from collaborators, colleagues, and friends of Professor Alexander Zakhidov and celebrates his impact on organic and perovskite technologies. The articles are free to access through May 31.

We're all smiles as Austen Adams was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Talk Award for the Spring 2024 Texas Section Meeting of the American Physical Society and the American Association of Physics Teachers at Tarleton State University! #tsaps#tsaapt#utd@UTDScience
In this invited work, we leveraged a “liquid teflon” electrolyte to uncover the capacitive and dielectric properties of a perovskite thin film. We hope that this work honors the life and legacy of our colleague and friend Alex Zakhidov. https://t.co/edLAVTASZX
We are pleased to share our work on the dynamic "molecular wrench" activity of DNA helicases! We observed a unique fast-reverse-slow unzipping behavior and revealed a range of tools for DNA repair. https://t.co/rDnfeTuovg
We in @UTDScience invite applications for an open-rank tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Experimental Quantum Information Science and Technology, with an emphasis on interfaces with Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) quantum systems. https://t.co/6DUn7PfVfV #physics
We at #UTDallas are hiring THREE tenure track/tenured professors in the area of Biomedical Sciences! We are interested in those with expertise in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, and more! https://t.co/PeG9ZQxejE
