Alabama high school band director Johnny Mims was tased repeatedly and arrested by Birmingham police after he refused to immediately stop the band as it played in the bleachers following a football game.

The band was taking part in what they call “The Fifth Quarter,” a segment after the game which many high schools and historical Black Colleges play music.

A Black family on an AAU basketball trip is terrorized and harassed by Frisco, TX police … all because these geniuses did not know the state abbreviation for Arkansas is AR, not AZ — so the police assumed the car was stolen.

I hope they sue and the officers involved are fired, but none of that will erase the emotional damage and trauma done to this family.

Tuscarora grad Jordan Addison becomes the first first-round NFL draft pick in Frederick County history since Chuck Foreman in 1973. Both men were taken by the Minnesota Vikings. He was taken at No. 23.
