France don’t need three playmakers. They already have Mbappe, Dembele, Barcola and Olise providing the creativity. What they need behind them is balance.

Tchouameni wins the ball, protects the defence and controls transitions. Rabiot covers huge spaces, carries the ball forward, presses, and links midfield to. It’s the same thing you will get with Kante, Kone or Emery. Olise then becomes the creative hub between midfield and the front three.

Every role complements the next. If you fill the midfield with attacking midfielders, who’s protecting the back line? Who’s winning second balls? Who’s covering for Mbappe when he stays high?

Football isn’t about cramming the most talented players into one XI. It’s about building a team where every profile fits together. That’s exactly why France attack look so dominant, the midfield gives them balance.
