Keir Starmer is a fundamentally good man who rebuilt the Labour Party when it was facing political catastrophe.
More from me on today’s announcement from the Prime Minister 👇
Sir Keir deserves credit for his political decency & seriousness in times when politics as a whole is going in an opposite direction, his dedication to workers’ rights, his leadership on Ukraine and UK’s fp rapprochement with the EU. Montenegro shall remember his support.
Ce serait un grand geste si president @EmmanuelMacron reconnaissait l’injustice historique faite au Monténégro par la France en 1918-1919. Ce serait important pour l’avenir des relations franco-monténégrines. 🇲🇪🤝🇫🇷
Keir Starmer, "On Brexit, the reason I reminded everyone of what Nigel Farage said was because that was the promise he put to the country"
"That we'd be stronger, we'd be richer, we'd have lots of money for the NHS, immigration will come down"
"It all proved to be false"
"Farage is not going back to the country now and saying it was a good thing, you've all benefited"
"Farage will talk about almost anything else apart from the consequences of the one thing he delivered for the country, Brexit"
"Farage doesn't want to talk about it, and there's a reason for that, it didn't help working people"
"It turns out what he said wasn't true"
"That's why Farage doesn't want to talk about Brexit"
"But we have to talk about it now because we have to address the situation we are in"
"We have to give this country a stronger economy, a stronger defence and security arrangement given the world we live in"
"That's why I said what I said about being closer to Europe"
"And this government being defined by bringing Europe back together and the UK at the heart of Europe"
Prime Minister Keir Starmer announces his government will be 'defined by rebuilding the UK's relationship with Europe', and vows to put "Britain at the heart of Europe".
We’re talking about the Western Balkans here at the Foreign Ministers meeting in Brussels.
When countries in the region deliver, we do too: the start of drafting Montenegro's accession treaty, new payments under the Growth Plans, and Serbia joining SEPA.
My doorstep comments about the region this morning arriving at today’s Foreign Affairs Council.
Montenegro’s place inside the EU is now taking shape.
Today, Member States decided to start drafting Montenegro’s EU Accession Treaty.
This is a major step on the path to EU membership, a clear recognition of Montenegro’s progress, and an encouragement to accelerate reforms.
It also offers a chance to draw lessons from past enlargements and include new and stronger safeguards in future accession treaties to prevent backsliding on the rule of law and fundamental values.
Montenegro is about to close another chapter in the accession talks with the EU!
We should be grateful to our European friends for not giving up on us despite the continuous destructive efforts made by parts of the ruling coalition and legitimized by the Prime Minister.

Aleksandar Vučić is once again choosing paranoia over responsibility, inventing external enemies to divert attention from his government’s economic failures. After Croatia, Albania and Kosovo strengthened their defence cooperation, he spoke of possible ‘attacks’ by the three countries. Following the playbook of his friend Viktor Orbán, who claims Ukraine threatens Hungary, Vučić turns fear into politics. Europe needs de-escalation, truth and dialogue in the Western Balkans.
As committee chairs in the Parliament of Montenegro, @LakovicMiodrag and I have signed an appeal to our colleagues to support a campaign aimed at collecting financial & humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine.
Four years into the Russian war of aggression, 🇲🇪 stands with 🇺🇦!
The EU Commission must clearly explain its position on this so-called ‘Board of Peace’. There are serious concerns about the lack of transparency, the unclear mandate, and the risks of taking part in initiatives outside the UN framework.

BREAKING: In a powerful moment, the United Kingdom's Defense Minister John Healey just announced the UK will provide $35 billion in military aid to Ukraine. This is amazing.
OMG @SusieWiles, I love you!!😅
"In one instance, Grenell reportedly arranged for the Serbian President @avucic to fly to Florida for a quiet meeting with Trump in May 2025. The meeting never happened.
Sources say Wiles personally 'blocked' the encounter, leaving the foreign leader in an 'awkward spot' and signaling that Grenell's 'days of freelancing' were under intense scrutiny." - The Daily Mail
