American delusion volume 9million

[Coby DuBose | DuBose Defense @DuBoseDefense]

Every four years we take the best 11 athletes in every other country and put them up against the 4000th best athletes in America, and see if we can win. It's a crazy exercise.

“WE WEREN’T PLAYING SERIOUSLY”

American delusion is a special thing

[Josh Wiesel @Jwiesel13]

Christian Pulisic is a prime example of the United States not having its best athletes playing soccer

There’s just no way there aren’t guys in the NBA & NFL who wouldn’t be better than him if they would’ve started playing soccer at a young age

He’s a wimpy small athlete

[Alexandre Gangué-Ruzic @AlexGangueRuzic]

It’s so fitting that it’s Stephen Eustáquio who fires the #CanMNT to their 1st-ever knockout round win at a men’s World Cup, after his 2022 WC ended prematurely

With all the quiet work he does in midfield… it’s deserved that he gets the headlines today

[Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun]

Honestly never thought I would see this in our lifetime. Canadian heroes, you bet!

Oh to be an old white male NHL coach, the options are endless regardless of conduct

[Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger]

Sources: The Edmtn Oilers are consulting with the NHLPA to see if there are objections that must be resolved before potentially hiring Mike Babcock. Amid allegations of invading players privacy, Babcock resigned in CBJ as Head Coach in 2023. Further investigation may be required.

I think this is what people gleefully posting the arena map are missing ...

[Big Head Leafs @BigHeadLeafs_]

Can we finally say Mitch Marner wasn’t the problem as he’s now leading the league in points this playoffs.

Whoever thought he was the problem was flat out wrong.

[Lucky Teter @TheMagaHulk]

Dave Ramsey's generation were given great jobs with pensions and bought their first homes for six strawberries at age 20.

They proceeded to import 100 million people for cheap labor.

They lived live in easy mode and now want their grandkids to become Great-Depression era laborers to be able to afford a house in 30 years.

[Ben Johnson @benljohnson1996]

This is a great example of how far behind we still are when it comes to exercise science knowledge.

Someone performs a deadlift with less than a 100% ‘flat back’ and people lose their minds.

We’ve got strength coaches in the comments claiming guaranteed injury from this type of technique.

Absolute morons.

We have no evidence to suggest that lifting with a flexed spine increases risk of injury.

We do have evidence to suggest that disc herniations can happen even when the spine is in neutral.

We also have evidence to suggest that the spine always flexes when you deadlift - regardless of whether you want it to or not.

The injury risk during resistance training is extremely low overall (2-4 injuries per 1000 participation hours).

Humans are built in a wide variety of ways and therefore will move in a wide variety of different ways *shock*.

Stop fear mongering people away from lifting weights.

I have a co-worker who never announces anything. You don’t know she applied for a promotion until she’s already in the new office. You don’t realize she bought her own place until she casually mentions “heading home to finish painting.” She doesn’t post milestones. Doesn’t crowdsource opinions. Doesn’t invite commentary.
I used to think she was secretive. That success was supposed to be shared loudly. That excitement needed an audience.
Now I see it differently.
She moves with intention. Quiet. Focused. Certain. Her plans are protected while they’re still fragile. Her joy isn’t diluted by outside noise. She lets things grow roots before she shows the world the bloom.
It isn’t secrecy. It’s discernment. It’s peace. It’s self-trust.
Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who build their lives softly, without applause, and let their results speak when they’re ready.

Dan Orlovsky perfectly represents where sports media went wrong.

It's one thing to have Stephen A Smith or Skip Bayless whose job it is to be intentionally provocative. They represent the drunk guy in the urinal mumbling through vomit that we need to run the damn ball (and we do.)

Dan is a former player with no cache featured every day on primetime intentionally spitting out takes that would make Herschel Walker blow his load. Literal Mickey Mouse clickbait bullshit.

Bad faith sports torture porn that robs the viewer of an interesting perspective.

[Comrade Misty is Putin’s Buddy @SarcasmStardust]

Our country sucks ass. I did a whole segment on Jimmy’s show when I guest hosted of these supposed “feel good” stories about people needing to do fundraisers to just survive. How dare we call ourselves the greatest country on earth when this shit is happening everywhere every day. Meanwhile we spend trillions on war and give the richest amongst us the biggest breaks. We suck.

The hockey world has long known what Sidney Crosby is all about, but you won't find a better example of his selflessness than his decision to sit out today's Olympic gold-medal final rather than forcing it while injured.

Crosby put his teammates, team and country 🇨🇦 first.

[Jason Murphy @Jasonmurphy33]

I have genuinely no idea how you could remotely blame him for any of those goals.

Everyone with eyes: "binnington with another great game"

@scottcwheeler "bench him, cut him from the team"

[Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus]

NEW: Jordan Binnington had legions of doubters. Lord knows I was one of them.

None of them play for Team Canada.

"When big games come around, Jordan Binnington comes around.”

The agenda-based "hockey guys" have been exposed so badly with how Marner has performed for Team Canada. Over the last 13 months, no single player has been more clutch for Canada than Marner, but the haters are going to hate, and find excuses like 3 on 3 and "skills competition"
