I mentioned some of the investment opportunities in Niger state and welcomed investors for partnerships at the ongoing Saudi-Nigeria Presidential Roundtable Meeting in Riyadh.

I was part of the a training and capacity building workshop on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence organized by the Nigerian Governor's Spouses Forum and UN Women for Governor's wives at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on 9th November, 2023.

I received the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Tijani Aliyu and his entourage on a working visit to the state.

I presented to some of the selected 700households the items provided by NCFRMI and pledged more collaboration with NCFRMI to provide succour for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Niger state.

As part of our effort to give the required support to the IDPs, 13,000 bags of grains from our reserve will be distributed to the IDPs and Niger State Refugee Commission will take-off with the grant of 500 million under the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.

It's no longer acceptable the rate at which Nigerlites are being ravaged and displaced every year due to overflow of water. I therefore call on organizations like AEDC and NNPC to pay Niger State for the Hydro Carbon Exchange as we also demand for 13% derivation from Federal Government for Power Generation and compensation for ceding land for the creation of FCT.

The Suleja-Minna road dualization project awarded in the last 12 years should be completed now as Niger State remains the gateway between the Northern and Southern parts of Nigeria.

Determination to End Insecurity - Yesterday closed-door meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa at the Government House, Minna.

I had a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Works and Housing, David Umahi at his Office in Abuja.

I appealed to the Ministry to channel the funds available for the construction of the Minna-Bida road towards the construction of the Bida-Zungeru road project because the State Government has already gotten funding from the Islamic Development Bank for the Minna-Bida road project.

Also as State Government, we are willing to take over the Suleja-Minna road dualization project and complete the about 41km to Minna left and get a refund from the Federal government in due course, coupled with the dualization of the Minna-Beji road and subsequently get a refund from the Federal Government

The Minister of Works has pledged to visit Niger State to inspect the roads to give a nod for the State Government to begin construction.

I had the honour alongside the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alh. Abubakar Usman to on behalf of Niger State Government signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on "Cooperation in the prevention and development of renewable energy and low carbon solution projects".

The NNPC's Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy, Olalekan Ogunleye as well as its Managing Director, New Energy Limited, Kanayochukwu Odoe signed for the NNPC at the Abuja Head Office of the Corporation.

This collaboration aims to drive the development of four unique projects:

1. A Greenfield Hydroelectric power project.

2. Mega Solar parks in institutions and home solar systems for 250,000 households out of the 800,000 households in Niger state.

3. Establishment of a 500 million liters Ethanol Plant with associated cultivation of Maize, Sugarcane, and Sweet Sorghum on 100,000 hectares of land in Niger state, producing over 500,000 tons of crops to fuel the ethanol plant.

4. NNPC's commitment to plant 135 million trees on 100,000 hectares of land as part of its 2030 net zero targets and climate protection efforts.
