Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was, clearly, a very proud Hindu, but he also had native Muslims in his army.

His war was against foreign invaders and their brutal oppression; he fought foreign invaders like the Timurid-Mughals and Portuguese to establish indigenous self-rule (Swarajya).

By France24's logic, would fighting the Portuguese mean he was anti-Christian as well? Silly and reductive opinion.

Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a great emperor for all Indians, regardless of religion, caste or language.
