@Blevins232880@TalkeyHockey Maybe. With Sundin coming in id be shocked if they trade the Swedish star right away. Better to hold on too him and Matthews until we've got our picks, See if they can catch lightning in a bottle. If not you ship them both out and build around McKenna once hes had time to arrive
@IsserSteve@JFreshHockey Matthews and Nylander aren't even 30 yet lmao. You wait 2 years and sell them off then if you have too. Trading the two best players on a team and heaping all the pressure onto a kid that all the experts agree will probably take a season or two to arrive is generational stupidity
@MattJussup@VanRyn2Alcatraz All that does is gift PHI and Boston top picks. They should ride out the next two years while McKenna comes into his own. If you want to trade the stars you trade them when you and only you benefit. Not when 2 teams in your conference have your unprotected 1s.
@Blevins232880@TalkeyHockey Im sure they'd rather not, but they're completely cap strapped and need to move someone. Robertson is an FA and they don't have the space too keep him. Either have too let him walk for nothing or get value by moving off someone else.
@capebretoner82@evanrender McKenna had more points in the CHL then Bedard or McDavid in there draft years. He was the shoe in number one overall pick for years. After he spurned the CHL for the NCAA Canadian media started running all kinds of stories about him not being as good as the hype. Its all noise.
@hip_bro@_JordanDecker Can't tear it down until 2028. You dont enter a "too the studs" rebuild while other teams in your conference have your unprotected 1sts for the next two seasons. Also gives McKenna a chance to find his game before he gets the weight of the world tossed on him.
