A couple of days ago, while shopping at Walmart, @WalmartCanada hard to not notice that over 90% of the staff appeared to be India. Apparently the government is subsidizing up to 60% of their wages, which gives Walmart a financial incentive to hire them instead of Canadians. Walmart claims this is about "diversity and inclusion," but in reality, it's clearly about saving money.

While there, a customer ahead of me was arguing with the cashier over a product price. The cashier, who was East Indian, called over a manager or supervisor also East Indian. The two of them started speaking in Punjabi, a language the customer couldn't understand. Although they did end up resolving the issue and giving the customer what he asked for, my friend who was born in Canada and speaks Punjabi later told me that the cashier and manager had been trash talking the customer during their conversation before resolving the issue.

This is unacceptable. Why are employees in Canadian establishments speaking in languages customers can’t understand especially when they're dealing directly with those customers? And why is Walmart staffing 90% of its workforce with immigrants, just so Canadian taxpayers can foot the bill for 60% of their wages? When I asked they said all this stuff is acceptable because it’s diversity and inclusion. The response to that comment was actually let me correct you on that, sounds like a straight up invasion not diversity and inclusion. The Walmart Call centre attendant was also from India.
