Mississippi’s State Medical Examiner has officially ruled the cause and manner of d*ath of 18-year-old Nolan Wells as undetermined. Wells disappeared during a Fourth of July boating trip with friends, and his body was recovered near Horn Island two days later.
The autopsy revealed two bruises on the back of his head but could not determine how the injuries occurred. The report also found no fluid or debris in the airways of his lungs, raising further questions about the suspected drowning. However, the absence of water does not rule out drowning.
Despite a grand jury declining to bring criminal charges and finding the evidence consistent with drowning, Wells’ family continues to demand answers about what happened to their son.
