🇺🇦🇷🇺 Heute Abend warnte der ukrainische EW-Experte Serhij „Flash" Beskrestnow vor einer neuen Shahed-Generation, die fast den gesamten Osten und Süden der Ukraine in Reichweite hat.

Beskrestnow, Berater des Verteidigungsministeriums für elektronische Kriegsführung, veröffentlichte eine Karte der betroffenen Zone – von Tschernihiw und Sumy im Norden über Charkiw, Poltawa, Dnipro und Saporischschja bis Cherson, Mykolajiw und Odessa im Süden.

Grund sind düsengetriebene („reaktive") Shahed-Drohnen mit Online-Steuerung.

Ihre Fernsteuerung ist laut Beskrestnow technologiebedingt reichweitenbegrenzt – innerhalb der roten Zone können sie aber gezielt bewegliche und stationäre Ziele angreifen, nicht nur vorprogrammierte Routen.

Er ruft Betreiber von Lagern, Tankstellen und Betrieben in der Zone auf, sich auf mögliche Treffer vorzubereiten,
Luftalarme ernst zu nehmen und Schutzräume zu bauen.

Während die Ukraine Russlands Raffinerien und die Schattenflotte gezielt trifft, rüstet Moskau seine Shahed-Flotte in die Gegenrichtung auf: weg vom blinden Flächenbeschuss, hin zur online-gesteuerten Präzision tief im ukrainischen Hinterland.

“We have never had a more difficult enemy than the Ukrainians. Even the Germans… even the fascists cannot be compared to them. They fight relentlessly,” Sladkov said, expressing rare frustration over the battlefield situation.

Sladkov, a well-known Kremlin supporter and longtime advocate of Russia’s military campaign, has frequently reported from the front lines. His remarks stand out because they acknowledge the resilience and determination of Ukrainian forces despite years of Russian efforts to gain the upper hand.

The comments reflect the increasingly difficult reality facing Russian forces, as the war continues to exact a heavy toll and Ukraine maintains fierce resistance across multiple sectors of the front.

Today, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck one of the key military enterprises in Russia's Kirov. It supplies components for the occupier's aircraft and missile systems, which are used, in particular, in the massive attacks against our cities and communities. I thank our warriors for their precision. Our response is entirely justified.

Our long-range sanctions also proved effective against an oil facility nearly 1,350 kilometers away. There were other successful strikes as well. Importantly, the operation against Russian logistics, which supplies the occupying army with drone components, navigation equipment, and military gear, remains underway.

I thank every unit of our Armed Forces, our intelligence agencies, and the Security Service of Ukraine involved in achieving these results. Glory to Ukraine!

The Foreign Affairs piece on China's economic model is one of those rare analyses that actually cuts through the usual Western cope. Beijing didn't rise by magic or superior central planning. It rose because it got plugged straight into Western markets, technology transfers, and capital flows that the liberal order kept wide open. Now the same system is being weaponized against its creators, and the bill is coming due faster than Brussels wants to admit.

The core trap is exactly as laid out: China's growth model runs on suppressed domestic consumption and massive overinvestment in production capacity. Ordinary Chinese households capture too small a share of the pie, so factories churn out far more than the internal market can absorb. The surplus gets dumped abroad, subsidized by the state, whether we're talking EVs, solar panels, machinery, or steel. This isn't free trade. It's mercantilism with Chinese characteristics, and it is already triggering the predictable backlash: tariffs, anti-dumping probes, friend-shoring, and quiet efforts to rebuild supply chains that don't run through Guangzhou.

Europe is sleepwalking into the worst version of this trap. Cheap Chinese imports feel like a win for consumers in the short term, but they are hollowing out industrial competence, skilled jobs, and the ability to produce critical goods at home. Lose your own manufacturing base and you don't just become dependent on Beijing for widgets. You become dependent for the strategic means to defend yourself. That is not an economic problem anymore. It is a security problem with Chinese characteristics, especially when you remember that Beijing, Moscow, Tehran, and Pyongyang have been tightening their axis while we pretend separate bilateral deals will contain it.

The irony is brutal. The very openness that let China industrialize at warp speed is now being eroded by China's own behavior. The more aggressively Beijing floods markets and displaces competitors, the faster those competitors raise barriers and duplicate production elsewhere. Beijing is burning the bridge it used to cross the river, all while still needing Western consumers to keep its factories running. That is not master strategy. That is a structural contradiction dressed up in nationalist slogans and Xi Jinping photo-ops surrounded by red flags and ceremonial guards.

For Ukraine this matters directly. We are building our own defense industry at wartime speed precisely because we cannot afford strategic dependence on any single supplier, least of all actors aligned with the Moscow-Tehran-Pyongyang supply chain that keeps feeding our enemy. Europe should be doing the same instead of debating how many more subsidized Chinese EVs it can absorb before its own industrial base collapses. The choice is no longer abstract: subsidize your own productive capacity and protect critical sectors, or become the world's largest captive market for a rival civilization that views your openness as a weakness to exploit.

The post-appeasement era is here. Moscow taught us the hard way what happens when you let imperial revisionists rewrite the rules while you chase short-term margins. China is simply playing the same game at global scale. Time to stop pretending the rules still favor the open society that created the pie everyone wants to carve up. Either the West rebuilds its industrial sinews and strategic autonomy, or it learns the expensive way that gratitude for past growth does not buy immunity from future predation.

🇪🇸 El 23 de julio de 1921, los 700 jinetes del Regimiento de Cazadores de Alcántara se lanzaron sobre los aguerridos rifeños para proteger a los soldados españoles en retirada tras el desastre de Annual.

Liderado por el teniente Fernando Primo de Rivera, el Alcántara cargó contra el enemigo sobre el lecho seco del río Igán hasta en ocho ocasiones, llegando a hacerlo a pie y sable en mano cuando sus monturas habían caído.

Ese día, el 90% del regimiento cayó cumpliendo con su deber y completando el más alto sacrificio con sus compañeros y con España. Hoy se cumplen 105 años de aquella gesta.

Ante el silencio institucional del Gobierno socialista, por no ofender a Marruecos, es deber de todos los españoles recordar a quienes dieron su vida por la patria.

🇷🇺🪙 Putin has now sold 71% of Russia's gold reserves. When those are gone, there is nothing left to fund his war.

Russia's GDP growth for 2026 is projected at 0.4%. Half of all civilian industrial sectors are now in decline. The war is running $28 billion over budget. It is projected to overspend by a further $54 billion in 2027 and 2028.

The territory Russia is acquiring works out at $90 million per square mile. $90 million per square mile of a country it was supposed to consume in days.

And then there is the labour shortage. Close to half a million soldiers killed. Hundreds of thousands wounded. Hundreds of thousands of working-age men who left after mobilisation and never returned. Factory workers and delivery drivers choosing frontline service over civilian jobs because war wages are higher.

You can adjust interest rates. You can print money. You cannot conjure back a missing generation of workers.

The question is not whether this is sustainable. It isn't. The question is what breaks first — and how badly.
