@tom_ritz@paulspacey@UTDTrey Damn same exact situation for me. Class of 2005 and never once experienced an active shooter drill or anything resembling it. That’s a norm now.
@paulspacey@tom_ritz@UTDTrey I feel you’re a little too zoned in on the World Cup instead of just the fact that it’s a large gathering of people. The KC incident was just a gathering of a bunch of sports fans, Las Vegas was just a concert with lots of fans. It’s the amount of people not necessarily the event
@paulspacey@tom_ritz@UTDTrey Columbine
Las Vegas
Sandy Hook
Orlando
Virginia Tech
Parkland
El Paso
The list goes on. More than half the mass shootings in the US involving 10 or more deaths have been in just the past 25 years alone.
@1stClassDesigns@RacingAerials Disney bought the film side of things, but the company was split up and Fox still exists. Fox Corporation owns the Sports, News, and Fox broadcast channel still.
@Gibleson@AJYeend That was even still under the Fox Searchlight banner right around transition time. Probably only 4K because it was in the work for Fox. I believe only 4K under Searchlight Pictures is Nightmare Alley.
@S1apSh0es Pocono is so unique and people seem to hate that. They want just more of the same. It’s high speeds with strategy and setup meaning a ton. I love seeing strategy playout that we don’t get on most tracks. Plus Pocono fan wise is great. They know how to run a race weekend.
@DevinAltieri @NASCAR_GENIUS @5KLNASCARFAN That’s definitely not something most think. NASCAR is very driver focused for fans. The grandstands are full of shirts for Larson, Elliott, Wallace, Blaney, etc…instead of for Hendrick, Gibbs, Penske, etc… team fandom is small scale in nascar.
@drediablo13 @esnygoldenwoman @aftersunfilm No it can’t. EGOT is to show the excellence and range in completely different mediums…movies, tv, Broadway, music. A Globe is a second tier for both tv and movies.
@AdriCaporusso Branding matters. When you hone in on a specific brand with established character names it’s different. If it was just a general movie about dolls than 100% original, but it’s based off something that already has an established foundation.
@dark_knight989@hyperbrutalx@NextBestPicture I mean there is stuff written for Barbie. There is many books, straight to video movies, games, and even stories written on boxes for particular characters. There is definitely Barbie lore established.
@CallMeCommodore@JonathanM_507@bdgrabinski It does not because Christmas left the building almost empty. Most other events wouldn’t leave the building so empty. Buildings like that will have people there late hours and cleaners around the clock most of the year.
@iamdmg@metaplexmovies@JohnnySobczak Suits blew up on streaming. Was one of if not the most watched shows on Netflix and has not made the wheels turn on a spin off of it.
@metaplexmovies@JohnnySobczak Things can still be good done yearly. Hell a massive chunk of the best shows of all time were yearly shows. Look at some of the most rewatched shows on streaming services it’s the older yearly shows…Office, Friends, Suits, etc…shows don’t need to be “events” or “blockbusters”
@I_and_I@Krasnerchessti1@metaplexmovies Is it that obvious? I was born in the 80’s and saw ET for the first time only a few years ago. It’s not a shot that even scream ET unless you’re very very familiar with the movie. It is a great movie, but this whole take comes across so damn snobbish even if it’s not intended to.
