You could go back and read Sidney Powell’s book, “License to Lie”, and see how the people who are now senior at DOJ sharpened their fangs around the Enron case. Or, that of Arthur Anderson where they were unanimously overruled by the Supremes but only long after all the company’s productive assets had taken to the elevators and vanished. Was that the plan for Trump? In Illinois we saw Lois Lerner promise to call off her IRS dogs in return for at least one popular Republican candidate promise not to run for office any more.

I suppose this should not surprise students of history, because the Democratic Party basically created the whole repressive regulatory bureaucratic apparatus under the guise of Progressivism. The Interstate Commerce Commission for example sat on railroad freight and passenger rates from that founding until the Wilson Administration nationalized those companies in 1917 for the duration of WWI. FDR’s new deal intimidated the Supreme Court (“A switch in time saves nine”) to the extent it subordinated individual liberty to his many councils of experts.

Few people on this board will recall that price controls on American railroads continued long after WWII and essentially bankrupted most of them. Every rate increase and route drop became “a federal case”. In the end, we suffered titanic economic destruction for the Democrats to gather a few votes. Guess what their elected and appointed officialdom really harvested.

In our big cities historically, the cops raid houses of ill repute when they start blackmailing (the wrong) people. It looks like Epstein went too far in a direction like that and made enemies. In Palm Beach, the federal prosecutor noted he couldn’t get girls to testify. What changed?

USPS worker involved in the Wisconsin 2020 Election testified that their higher-ups ordered them to backdate over 100,000 ballots.

Adjudication workers in GA were working with no oversight or chain-of-custody, which allowed them to switch Trump votes to Biden at the click of a button.

Election workers in Detroit testified he witnessed election workers counting and processing invalid ballots for Biden.

Other election workers in multiple states were threatened or even permitted to observe the counting as their job required them to do.

Every recent forensic report coming out today is confirming everything we were told in 2020.

As if that weren’t enough, someone observed every time there was a riot in Paris, more money fled to London in fear the revolution had returned. In fact, the convertibility of the British Pound matched with England’s respect for private property made the UK an irresistibly attractive place to park money until 1914.

Economic growth after Waterloo dwarfed what had been described as an inconceivably large debt load from the Napoleonic Wars. Ending the income tax before returning to convertibility increased investment returns and made them real again. President Reagan accomplished similar results with the first tax cuts since the 1930’s while Greenspan held the dollar at a ten-year average at $350/oz. until the end of 1996.

We can do it again. Convertibility at two $1,000-bills (close to gold’s ten-year moving average?) We might do three or even use $500’s too. There are literally tons and tons of those large bills in storage which have not been issued since their last run of December 27, 1945 (wiki).

It’s always been that way, where else can the “money” go? It has to park in short term securities first. After all, we don’t want to get “crucified on a cross of gold” according to William Jennings Bryan at the Democrats’ 1896 and 1900 Chicago conventions. Childish amateurs wanted “an elastic currency”, took over and look what we have now.

We never needed a central bank with the dollar defined in gold by Congress essentially in 1792. Sound currency, paper money had become an economic wonder of the ages until our politicians started tinkering with it. (The federal government did not issue paper money until the Civil War, and the public demanded the old convertibility back as soon as possible.)

Yes, Congress should have to debate income-tax rates in front of the TV cameras (us). The same holds true for EPA regs, if the boys on the Hill don’t understand the chemistry, we don’t either, so don’t make it a law. Restore the law of nuisance, an ancient concept which protects private property. If farmers own the creeks and rivers, they cannot be polluted without monetary consequence. Why did we get rid of that? Gov’t ownership means everybody and nobody can sue.

We face what business calls the “agency problem”. That amounts to managers operating in their own interest as opposed to the owners’ (you and me). Congress may also be seen as a board of directors. The Constitution provides the by-laws, as the Supreme Court has had to more frequently remind us. Getting the feds back to 3 1/2% of our peacetime economy presents a challenge which only mutual ownership will handle.
