By the time my friend able to report to police, all of the “company’s” social media accounts/profiles, website etc have been deleted, WhatsApp/phone numbers deactivated. Gone without a trace. This is a worrying type of scam known to police apparently. South London, last weekend.

Price, location, date agreed. My friend duly arrives with all his kit, DSLRs, drone, laptop, osmo, smartphone etc, expecting to be met by ‘client’. Met by 5 men, one of whom w/out warning immediately punches my friend repeatedly in the face, while others take all the kit.

Thread: Cautionary tale from a young photographer friend. Approached by a ‘company’ via Instagram recently. ‘Love your work, want to commission’ etc. Conversations develop via Insta, WhatsApp. My friend does research, checks out their website, quotes for the shoot, seems legit.
