The ASA Adam R. Telle met with #USACE leadership, @JaxPort & @PortTampaBay, discussing investments that strengthen navigation, modernize infrastructure, improve supply chain resilience, and support America’s economic competitiveness. #ArmyCivilWorks#BuildingStrong#Navigation
We were pleased to welcome Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works Adam R. Telle, Major General Jason E. Kelly and the @USACEHQ to Port Tampa Bay today.
During their visit, they spent time with port leadership, including president and CEO Paul Anderson, to learn more about the port’s operations, strategic growth and the critical role Port Tampa Bay plays in supporting commerce and supply chains throughout West Central Florida.
The discussion also highlighted the port's future, including the generational effort to deepen and widen the channel from 43 feet to 47 feet. This transformational infrastructure project will allow larger vessels to safely transit the channel, strengthen the region’s economic competitiveness and support continued growth in cargo activity and maritime commerce for decades to come.
We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase the port and appreciate the continued partnership and collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Today we welcomed the @USACEHQ to discuss JAXPORT’s role as a strategic gateway for the Southeast U.S. and a driver of jobs, economic growth, and supply chain reliability.
Topics included JAXPORT’s strong trade relationship with Puerto Rico, the port’s cargo and trade lane diversity, and the importance of modern maritime infrastructure in supporting businesses, consumers, and national defense.
