Trying to think for both Ireland and the UK what was the last piece of major legislation for the under 65s that wasn't some kind of crackdown, ban or cuts.

🚨BREAKING: President Trump says he has suspended the bombings on Iran due to "that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved"
Any ground assault or strike on Iran's critical infrastructure will lead to the immediate destruction of Saudi, Qatari, Kuwaiti, Bahraini, and Emirati critical infrastructure, resulting in the immediate collapse of these regimes and a catastrophic global economic depression.
Good take by @adam_tooze in the FT.
I think a good analogy to use is this: imagine Saudi Arabia offered to sell their oil wells at 80% off, and you could somehow ship them home. You'd call any leader who refused that deal a complete fool.
Well that's pretty much what China is doing with solar panels.
That's what people fail to understand: there's such intense competition and so much supply in China - the so-called "involution" phenomenon - that it's YOU, as a customer, who's getting subsidized when you buy solar panels. This is literally China paying your energy bill.
And it's like oil wells because, once it's installed, there's no dependency. You buy it once, and for three decades (the average lifespan of a solar panel) you're extracting energy from your own sun, just like an oil well extracts from your own ground. It's one of the most sovereign energy asset you can buy.
The rational response when you see this is to buy as many as you can, as fast as you can. All the more when you're Europe and you have massive energy supply problems (and no solar industry of your own to protect).
But no, we scream "overcapacity" and put up tariffs. We're so deep into geopolitical brainworms that we can't recognize the best deal in the history of energy.

In American slang we often refer to money as “benjamins” this is a subtle reference to Benjamin Netanyahu, an American folk figure who takes all of our money
PSG is owned, funded and controlled from top to bottom by a state that personally pays for and aids the genocide. These points scoring attempts are genuinely so embarrassing.
Boomers absolutely killing it. On top of buying houses for cheap and indices pre covid, now all the Unc’s who worked at IBM Dell HP etc. getting one last big pump into retirement.
Used to get bantered for 4th, then it shifted to finishing 2nd. Now they’re trying to turn winning the league and losing a ucl final into banter. That’s just the goalposts moving as the level rises. Rival fans are hanging on for dear life, they know what’s coming.
guys acting like psg and qataris aren't zionists are genuinely hilarious.
Arsenal derangement syndrome goes crazy. They'd even use a genocide as a means of football "banter"
