sure side by side mappa version match with manga, but kinda animations is not about color corrections and stressing shadow lines on character face but also how you move character when to blend with environment when to slowmo or zoom control, movements is main key, scene wise camera distance, sounds, silence many more things, what give u goosebumps what not.
I spotted 100s of mistakes in mappa animations yep few in wit also, ig I need to make a compiled video about those scenes

makin it dark or gritty is not smthin we can make it by increasing sharpness or color. its not only about animations color or shape. When to slowmo, when to display weight parity, shock, pressure, silence, scene switch, angle, sound level distributions, the fear, getting chewd by titan, his mother scene, the forest scene of female titan, levi, zake intro, crushed rockes debris throw the slow motion of that, levi fight kenny and zake, crazy fight of annie and eren, erwin speech.
Where I see difference levi fighting titan in s3 vs in s4 when zake transformed his comrades, eren scene with reiner was peak but when he transformed his actions was so weird, they failed to display how and why easily jaw titan entered, when there is an attack soldier walking calmly bro you supposed to show then runing not like they just failed exam and going home. many mores many mores

idk you can call me psycho but I watched complete AOT 5 times and still 6th times its going on, I can see every details and compare things.

Isayama gave mappa tha best part, when it has metal trauma and pressure in scene reven and brutality, grown up eren, many things were good but I believe wit could do way better.

mappa way bigger budget, best software in 2020 when animations are peak, while WIT done it in near 2010 when in 2013 they released, less resources less budget old traditional softwares +no reference as mappa had due to WIT work, when even 1080p was new color contrast is kinda blury with higt temp, but movements and choreography they done there is excellent and unbeatable. u will see left right many comparision but what I see thats too so many times it tells me that yes mappa done good and jjk etc is peak but for AOT WIT is ways better
