It's not that there are NO examples of successful foreign imposed regime change, there are, but it USUALLY requires a level of commitment and persistence that includes an incredible amount of blood and treasure, not to mention overwhelming force.

Venezuela is very different than a Middle Eastern country...I realize that. It brings different challenges that have to be properly understood for it to work.

For instance, Venezuela has incredibly challenging terrain and infrastructure issues that are very conducive to insurgent operations.

The current government and military elements are tied in closely with if not running the cartels, which means cartels/insurgent elements will have access to quality military equipment, explosives etc.

Where do we anticipate the most organized resistance to come form and will we be able to successfully control urban centers AS well as rural areas that are harder to reach and control?

Will the incoming administration have a military and police force capable of maintaining order and will be supportive of the new government or will US military power be required to prop up the new government and if so for how long?

That's why I'm respectfully asking questions of an administration I respect.

These are the questions of someone who has not only been educated and trained in these operations but has conducted them on behalf of the US government.

So for the people telling me to "calm down," you sound just like someone whose military experience has largely been acquired playing call of duty and has never had to pay any real price for failed American foreign policy...So you can quite literally piss the hell off.
