Bodies still being recovered, families grieving, investigation in the earliest stages, facts sparse.
Nevertheless, the feckless President of the United States questions the actions of the pilots, ATC, and tries to score cheap political points on DEI.
A portrait in leadership?
U.S. debt default NOT AN OPTION. Keep negotiating. However, if need be, @JoeBiden must invoke the 14th AMD & risk litigation or losing the presidency rather than losing the credibility of the U.S. and the domestic/global economy at the hands of feckless hostage takers. Leadership
I am (unfortunately) no longer surprised, but I continue to be amazed by the depths many Republicans will sink, to avoid holding Donald Trump accountable for his sedition and insurrection against the United States of America. Their hypocrisy on “law and order” is inconceivable.
Someone please explain to me how Donald J. Trump and others, should not be charged under the following?
18 U.S. Code CHAPTER 115— TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES
There’s a part of me that wants to say to MAGA, now you know how people of color have felt for the generations their rights have been stolen and trampled on. But, that isn’t the case here. These MAGA folks are committing an insurrection rooted in lies and conspiracy theories.
Like others, I’m wrestling with so many feelings on this, amongst the worst days in our nation’s history... To begin, imagine the response from Trump, if those who are committing this insurrection were majority black/brown people? He’d invoke the Insurrection Act in a heartbeat.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney gives Ohio State the best bulletin board material the Buckeyes could ask for: Doug Lesmerises. (I know what I’ll be doing on New Year’s Day!) https://t.co/UYcz0N6hjo
@GrindyMcGrindy@thehill Ok, we can just respectfully agree to disagree. But since I’ve actually overseen the funding and reformation of a police department, I’m both comfortable and competent in my original premise.
@GrindyMcGrindy@thehill I do mean some reforms in policing. But I also mean “re-fund the police” as in, reallocate some of the resources to other pertinent and supporting services. Reallocating funds does not equate to defunding the police.
Bernstein names 21 Republican senators who privately expressed contempt for Trump https://t.co/vpuyQWKEf5
Not exactly a list of nominees for a “Profile in Courage Award.” The private contempt expressed by these Senators is consent to Trump’s treasonous assault on our Democracy
@megynkelly Megyn, your assertion that 70m ppl have been called vile, racist, xenophobes, and are now being targeted in an exaggeration. While we can debate the basis of your argument, using such hyperbolic language further weakens it.
@dskolnick I agree with the essence of your column David. It’s just disturbing that @realDonaldTrump brand of Republicanism was the impetus for a more competitive landscape. Because, Trump is not a true “R”. The party was just too spineless & self-serving to repudiate him. He now owns them.
