The 2026/27 Budget has allocated KSh 424.3 Billion to TSC, reaffirming education as a top government priority. 20,000 intern teachers to be converted to Permanent & Pensionable (PnP) terms from January 2027.The newly recruited 24,000 intern teachers to be converted to PnP from July 2027.KSh 8.2 Billion allocated for intern teachers to help address staffing gaps in schools.With education receiving KSh 784.5 Billion, the sector remains the largest beneficiary of government funding. A major step toward improving teacher welfare, reducing shortages, and enhancing learning outcomes across the country.
