Another twist in the entrance exam fiasco. UGC-NET, which 9 lakh candidates appeared for across 317 cities, was cancelled for no real reason.
@RitikaChopra__'s brilliant reportage in the Indian Express today shows that the "evidence" used by the Education Ministry to cancel the UGC-NET exam was doctored.
On 19th June, the MHA's Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) sent a screenshot to the UGC from a Telegram chat pointing to a paper leak. Based on this screenshot, the Education Ministry cancelled the exam.
On June 23, the CBI took over the investigation - only to find that the original screenshot was fake. This isn't corruption - it's worse. This is incompetence. Someone has to be held accountable.
