Loved the original - a fav childhood movie RD Burman’s songs were classic.. Huzoor Is Kadar, Tujhse Naraaz, Do Naina Ek Kahani and Lakdi Ki Kathi..recall watching it in Shakuntalam, the hall opp our home in Mathura Rd those days in Pragati Maidan — dad in IAS had just got posted back fm Patna to Delhi those days …and the family watched too- loved it - the kids acted so well - and the least famous - the younger sis was my abso fav! Her disgust at the baingan being served so natural!!!

Consdering the times, would u consider a role reversal- i.e. the female protagonist having an illegitimate child from a previous relationship /“ accident” , and the male spouse coming to terms with it and accepting the child? Actually quite a “Karna” from Mahabharata situation except that the realization of existence of the child would be earlier when the kids are just kids…..
