P!nk shuts down divorce rumors with husband Carey Hart:
“So I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband, I didn’t know, thank you PEOPLE Magazine, thank you US Weekly.”
A group of white boys harass, taunt, abuse a black kid for almost two years.
They urinated in a cup, mixed it with apple juice and FILMED themselves making him drink it.
They shared the video online to bully him.
One of the white boys' dads then SUES THE BLACK BOY'S MOTHER for speaking out about it and calling the boys who did it racist.
And he just won $3.2 million.
That is the America we live in.
Asking for more grace for the person who shouted a racist slur instead of for Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, who had to push through being embarrassed in front of their peers.
But that’s often the expectation — that Black people are just supposed to be ok with being disrespected and dehumanized so that other people don’t feel bad.
BAFTA and the BBC failed Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, the Tourette's community and viewers when they allowed the N-word to be aired during the BAFTA Film Awards ceremony.
With a tape delay, this moment could have been handled differently. The audio could have been muted in the broadcast. The segment could have been edited. Instead, the slur went out. And now it lives online — free to be clipped, circulated, divorced from explanation and used as shorthand outrage. Or worse, it can be used to spread hate. https://t.co/7RYqGI5zLO
@PopCrave A racist with Tourettes go figure. Then Bafta not removing the clip but removing a black man’s speech advocating for a free Palestine. This is what THEY do.
It’s important that you understand what happened last night.
Last night, Stephen Colbert interviewed Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, a candidate who, by all accounts, is on track in the polls to flip Texas blue.
In response, Trump’s FCC reportedly threatened CBS if the interview aired.
CBS caved and pulled the segment, citing “financial reasons.”
In modern American history, no president has been more hostile to free speech than Donald Trump.
But censorship always backfires.
Here’s the full segment Trump didn’t want you to see.
