When I played hockey at a horrendous level, you had to be aware for 2-3 seconds after you got rid of the puck. It’s crazy how things have changed, and I know they won’t ever change back. However, awareness was preached at every level. Have the puck? Head up. Pass the puck? Don’t admire your pass, you could get hit. Hitting has multiple purposes, to separate a player from the puck + instill fear/bring a physical element that would put players in a position to be hesitant and throw them off their game. I remember playing certain players/teams where I didn’t even wanna have the puck too long. Cause I knew I’d get punished for it. That was a part of hockey. Like I said, that’ll never come back because of how the world works now - but it’ll always be weird to me how the game and it’s fans have changed so much. It is what it is.

The humboldt broncos will forever be carved into hockey history for the worst reason imaginable. Horrifying how young lives can be taken in an instant. #prayforhumboldt
Today’s generation has no morals or self respect and it makes me sick. Call me old fashioned but I miss the days when women dressed modestly and didn’t party every weekend and didn’t flaunt their bodies all over social media and didn’t have the legal right to vote or own property
We're definitely proud! But not as proud as @CanadiensMTL are of how many championships they won when there were only 6 teams in the league🙄 https://t.co/FaK14I2XLz
