23 years ago today, Jay-Z released the Greatest Hip Hop album of the 21st century
His 6th studio album, 3rd certified classic in 5 years,
cementing his place as The Greatest of All-Time
everything since has been victory laps
@elonmusk Unidentified woman on the internet claims Haitians eat cats and needs prayer. Don’t worry because “black people” say it too and therefore your myopic views are justified about people you’ve never interacted with. You’re free to parrot now. 🦜 🐑
@AndresWrites Brothers need to lend this type of psycho-analysis to business and politics and we might be able garner some respect as a constituency worth paying attention to for issues that actually impact us directly rather than two multimillionaires in LA.
@AndresWrites You can like and respect both of these artists because they’ve made
significant contributions to the genre. Thankfully they both demonstrate that you can be multidimensional, emotional, intelligent and flawed. You don’t need to tear 1 down for the other to exist in your playlist.
@TD_Mani@RobMarkman I grew up in the South. Listened to Wayne since the 90s. Relax this is not the existential crisis everyone is making it out to be. You can still love them and respect that K Dot has the hot hand right now. We certainly have bigger issues to deal with than an 18 min concert
@SkeeAlii The whole internet opining and this guy hasn’t said a word in years. Just movements. All the performative posts will be forgotten by sunrise.
We need to spend more time highlighting people like Larry Jackson who raised nearly $1B for gamma or Shereese Clarke Soares at Harbourview Equity Partners instead of squabbling over tinseled crowns. Time for the culture to mature to a new level.
As a life long rap fan its apparent that the only people rappers seem capable of mobilizing against is each other. 51 years in this space and some of biggest acts are as impulsive and emotionally inept as a 3yr olds.
Wasted an entire summer watching two greats tear each other apart for entertainment without most people realizing that they were birds chirping on two branches of the same tree (Universal).
