Ron Nomura has dedicated his career to guiding Hawaii's next generation of baseball stars. After graduating from McKinley High in the 1970s, he went on to enjoy a standout career at the University of Hawaii before spending 15 seasons working alongside the legendary Les Murakami. Together with his sons, he established the Nomura Academy, an organization built to develop the state's prep baseball talent and help provide pathways to collegiate and pro opportunities.

Jaydon Geraci struggled at the dish in OH last summer with @HawaiiTigers. Started off 1 for 23; ended with only a few hits. However, learned a lot about adversity & how to manage failure. This summer Jaydon returned for his 3rd OH Trip & he racked 15 hits + batted .294 w/ 2 triples & double. He went cold for 4 games down the stretch but bounced back going 3 for 8 in his final 3 games.

All in all, baseball is a game of failure & it tests your ability to manage it. Credit to Jaydon for not giving up when he endured failure & continuing to grind. He surely made it happen this summer & we couldn’t be more proud to call him a Hawaii Tiger 🌿
