@ChallenWStewart@YahooSports I understand your point & respectfully, my input was vague.
What I'm truly advocating is 100% transparency based on a published formula (based on merit) that is distributed and absent of both politics and bias.
I know it’s likely a pipe dream, but isn't this possible?
@BosSportsBros@MHver3 Got it.
I know that the city still has a large ND fan base even with BC being located there based on past coverage between those two schools and their rivalry.
Really nothing surprising with the large Irish population there, (makes sense).
My apologies for misinterpreting.
@BanexVortex@YahooSports Like the “genius” bit.
As such, I rely strictly on data - not bias.
Yes, Bama plays in a much tougher conference, that metric isn't ignored.

@PatrickCle61446@YahooSports I cannot argue against that, but that also presents the argument that conference championships shouldn't even be played.
If there is something to be gained, then it's logical to think that there's something to lose... Meaning, the rankings are still at stake barring the outcome
@BerrodinAlec@YahooSports You're not wrong.
Alabama has been the juggernaut in college football for sometime, it's no secret that every school they face play them harder than others.
It's the SOS metrics applied that makes this loss matter in the big picture, IMHO, they need to eliminate any bias.
@ChallenWStewart@YahooSports True, with the exception of college basketball maybe - but that's the narrative that the CFB committee set initially with the introduction of the playoffs... You're not wrong.
@winjhox_tim@HBTCowboys87@MHver3 Texas is the biggest brand in all of college sports, by far - they generate more than a billion more in revenue than #2 (Ohio State). Even still, Texas would not be nearly as successful as ND with being independent. If they could, they would (the same is true for everyone else).
@HBTCowboys87@MHver3 Like it or not, ND are basically the Dallas Cowboys when it comes to college football.
Overall, only Texas and Ohio State generate more revenue across all sports (last I checked), but ND takes the cake with football - and when it comes to being independent, eats it too...
@YahooSports *FSU
Both Tulane and JMU would lose considerably to any schools currently ranked in the top 15 w/TX maybe as an exception (b/c of their inconsistencies). If AL beat GA in the SEC championship, they should be in. Maybe even if it was a close contest, but no - blown out.
@YahooSports The playoffs should reflect and include the 12 best teams in the nation. That is not what's happening here. ND lost their 1st 2 games by a total of 4 points. Alabama had the most impressive road victory of the year vs. Georgia, but their loss against FL has to cancel this out.
